SARAJEVO, August 21 (FENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak believes that the meeting of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in New York on Tuesday is good for at least three reasons.

“I am especially pleased with Washington's strong support for abolition of taxes on goods from BiH and Serbia, which cause enormous financial damage to us. I hope this will lead to their abolition as soon as possible, maybe even before the Kosovo elections. I will particularly emphasize this in my future meetings with representatives of the US administration, as well as our new ambassador in Washington, who will begin his term in the coming days,” said Crnadak.

He also said that understanding on Washington-Belgrade route significantly increases the chances of continuing the dialogue and the final agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.

“Washington will not change its stance on independence, but their more balanced approach, which Vucic hinted at, could be an impetus for a final solution, which is of great interest for BiH and the whole region,” BiH Foreign Minister believes.

Finally, as a representative of Republika Srpska, he believes that Serbia's dialogue with Washington is very important.

"We need an open and fair relationship with the United States in order to securely hold our Dayton positions diplomatically and secure the economic development of the RS," Crnadak said.
