BIHAĆ, August 19 (FENA) - Volunteers and members of the Red Cross of Bihać began preparations of a temporary reception camp at the location of Vučjak for colder days, and it has been reiterated that increasing number of migrants and refugees impedes normal functioning and maintenance of the camp.
"We are facing an increased influx of migrants and refugees, which makes it increasingly difficult to secure normal living conditions in this temporary reception camp. Every day conditions are getting worse because we have problem of supplying enough food, hygiene supplies, clothing and blankets for 700 to 800 people currently residing in Vučjak, " said Secretary of the city organization of Red Cross Selam Midžić.
It was pointed out that in the coming days large tents are expected for collective accommodation, as well as setting up the lighting in order to prepare for colder weather as quickly as possible.
Considering the inability of the camp at Vučjak to accommodate a large number of refugees, there is an increased need of a potential location for the displacement of all migrants and refugees currently residing in Vučjak, Bira and Miral.
"We are in favor of the decision i.e. consent of the Government of the Una-Sana Canton (USK) from last year, when a location in Medeno Polje, between Bihać and Bosanski Petrovac, was offered for the accommodation of all migrants in the area. Of course, this would entail the closure of the temporary camps of Bira, Miral and Vučjak, " said USK Interior Minister Nermin Kljajić.
