SARAJEVO, August 15 (FENA) - The setting up of the Bosnian rug, which was made for the movie stars of the 25th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival, began this morning in front of the National Theater.

The red carpet, inspired by the Sarajevo rug elements dating back to 1930, will adorn the Susan Sontag Square until the closing of the Festival on August 23.

SFF director Mirsad Purivatra told FENA that he would be welcoming regional and world stars on a unique red carpet from tomorrow onwards.

He stressed that the Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka is also deserving of the idea of merging Bosnian tradition and film art, and that with the realization of this joint project, they wanted to send a strong and beautiful message from the BiH capital.

“We wanted to determine what is it that promotes a film festival the most in a city and concluded that the red carpet photos are the most recognizable in the media,” said Purivatra.

He emphasized that the Sarajevo Film Festival's creative team had been researching Bosnian rugs from the collection of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina for more than half a year, and that they eventually decided on a new red carpet look, which is a blend of traditional and contemporary.
