SARAJEVO/SREBRENICA, August 8 (FENA) - Srebrenica is a living memorial to be visited throughout the year, said Principal Deputy High Representative and Brčko District Supervisor Michael Scanlan during his visit to the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center, where he paid his respects to the victims of Srebrenica genocide, the Office of the High Representative in BiH announced.
During his visit, PDHR Scanlan met with representatives of victims' associations who shared with him issues of concern to the survivors and their families.
“Genocide victims and their families deserve our utmost respect. This tragedy must never be forgotten. It should serve as a reminder and a warning for younger generations - to build a better, more inclusive and caring future,” Scanlan said.
He also visited the Memorial Center and its exhibitions together with Director Mersed Smajlović.
It is important to come here not only on July 11, as this is a living memorial that has a role to play throughout the year, Scanlan announced.
