SARAJEVO, August 6 (FENA) – The Sarajevo Canton Minister of Interior Admir Katica will present a multi-purpose helicopter procurement plan for the Sarajevo Canton MoI operational and civilian needs at a session of the Sarajevo Canton Government on Thursday.
In addition to the acquisition of the helicopter, the Sarajevo Canton MoI will also set up a helicopter unit consisting of two crews and eight persons.
“We have needed a helicopter over many years and it will serve for both operational and civilian purposes of the Sarajevo Canton MoI, i.e. for the search and rescue missions, to assist the population in case of natural disasters, fires, floods, earthquakes, support for medical interventions and other emergencies. At the same time as the procurement procedure for the helicopter will be carried out, training and education of the necessary personnel will also take place for establishing a helicopter unit,” said Katica.
The procurement of the helicopter was one of the measures in the program signed by the six political parties comprising the majority in the Sarajevo Canton, stated the SC MoI
