SARAJEVO, August 5 (FENA) - The first shipment of coconut shell briquettes are headed from Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The ship started delivery of 17.2 tons of briquettes, which will be delivered to the port of Ploče, and then by land to BiH from the port of Suravaya from East Java,” Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to BiH Amelia Achmad Yani told FENA.
The exporter is CV Fitra Jaya, from Jawa Tengah province, the importing company is Ane doo in Sarajevo.
It is envisaged that within 30 days a container with briquettes will arrive in the Ploče port.
This shipment is valued at 21,242 dollars and is the result of a business agreement between BiH and Indonesia held on April 25 in Sarajevo, which was organized by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to BiH.
“These 17.2 tons will arrive in one container and if the product is satisfactory, they will order another 3-4 containers of briquettes,” Ambassador Yani explains.
Coconut shell briquettes are used for hookahs, grills and heating.
The coconut shell coal that will be shipped to BiH comes from the island of Sulawesi, with high quality, aromatic scent, and the ash is of white color.
The coconut shell is a renewable energy source. It is much more economical because the fuel is twice as long as any fast-burning coal, it is environmentally friendly - it contains very little ash, about 80 percent less than other briquettes.
