Softić: If Dodik doesn't accept compromise, he'll push RS further into poverty

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 2 (FENA) - MP in the House of Representatives and Vice-President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Safet Softić believes that the solution to the deadlock on the formation of a new Council of Ministers, offered by SDA President Bakir Izetbegović, represents a responsible and state-of-the-art approach which other politicians in BiH need to show.

Softić said in a press release that the Annual National Program is a reform document, which each country identifies based on its needs and capabilities. He adds that the proposal made by the NATO Integration Process Commission, as pointed out by Brussels, is a very good starting point for discussion and amendments, and ultimately for adoption and implementation.

Softić notes that annual national programs may be more or less ambitious, but “the bottom line is to initiate their implementation.”

“The harmonized version, which will respect the demands of all parties, is a solution that will guarantee the rule of law and the implementation of the election results, will be enforceable, and what is especially important will be accepted by our NATO partners in Brussels,” says Softić.

Softić notes that there is a second path, and that this is a continuation of the political crisis, in which everyone will suffer damage, and the biggest one is the SNSD and the BiH entity of RS.

“It's Dodik's choice. If he states ultimatums, demanding acts that are unconstitutional and illegal, he will never get it. If Dodik continues to blindly and persistently reject dialogue and compromise, he must know that it will not harm the pro-Bosnian side, but will push the RS entity into even more poverty and financial gloom, and further define itself as a factor of instability in BiH and the region, which is why he will sink even deeper on the blacklist,” said MP Safet Softić, Member of the PA BiH House of Representatives.
