FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 24 (FENA) - After this morning’s attack and the death of a Croatian Army member (HV) in Afghanistan, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marina Pendeš sent a letter and expressed her condolences to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Republic of Croatia Damir Krstičević and the family members of the killed soldier.

“I was deeply shocked with a feeling of sadness as a result of the horrific event that took place in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan during which one member of the Croatian Armed Forces was killed and two were wounded, and I use this opportunity to extend my deepest sympathies to you and the family of the fallen members of the Croatian Armed Forces.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a country that provides a credible and visible contribution to peace-support operations under the auspices of NATO, the United Nations and the European Union, is strongly committed to building a safe environment around the world, and in this respect, I particularly underline the EU and NATO paths and future of BiH as a modern country within NATO and the European Union.

Finally, I extend wishes for quick recovery of two wounded members of the Croatian Armed Forces, and once again offer my sincere condolence over the death of one of your members,” wrote Pendeš in the letter of condolence, stated the BiH Ministry of Defense.
