JAHORINA, July 9 (FENA) - The second day of the two-day summit of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), which marks the end of the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina over this regional initiative under the motto "Better Connecting for a Better Life", opened this morning on Mount Jahorina.

During the one-year chairmanship of the SEECP, Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a large number of events in order to provide additional incentives for cooperation in Southeast Europe, as well as the region's further approach to the European Union.

At the opening of the summit, chairman and members of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik, Šefik Džaferović and Željko Komšić addressed the participants, and the adoption of the Declaration of the Summit should follow.

According to the official announcements, four presidents, of Turkey, Montenegro, Albania and North Macedonia, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Milo Đukanović, Ilir Meta and Stevo Pendarovski, are attending the summit today.

Serbian and Bulgarian Prime Ministers Ana Brnabić and Boyko Borissov, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, Zdravko Bušić, Ambassadors of Greece, Slovenia and Moldova in BiH, Georgios Iliopoulos, Zorica Bukinac and Oleg Tuela, and a representative of the Romanian Government, Nicolae Hurduc, are also attending the summit.

One of the participants in the summit is the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Majlinda Bregu and the Director for Western Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey and Deputy Director General of the European External Action Service (EEAS) Angelina Eichhorst.

Although it was originally said that representatives of Albania who expressed solidarity with the position of Kosovo would not be present at this gathering, Albanian President Ilir Meta arrived in BiH.

Meta decided to come despite an earlier decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania that had canceled the participation in the summit of the ministers, stating that the attitude of the summit organizer towards Kosovo is unacceptable and that it is contrary to the goal of creating an atmosphere of trust, good neighborly relations and stability.

The SEECP Regional Initiative was launched in Sofia in 1996 with the aim of strengthening regional cooperation, security and stability.
