SARAJEVO, July 5 (FENA) - Now is the time to move from the Opinion to action, said today Head of the EU Delegation and the EU Special Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark at an interactive event on the occasion of the publication of the European Commission's Opinion on BiH's request for membership in the European Union.
The Opinion, along with the accompanying Analytical Report, indicates what Bosnia and Herzegovina, its citizens and elected representatives should do to join the European Union.
At an event called "Your Opinion on the Opinion?", through an interactive form of conversation, the most important details from the Opinion were presented, and the participants discussed about what awaits us and the changes that should follow.
Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark said that the European Commission's Opinion explains what should be done in this country in order to comply with European standards.
“I think it's clear to everyone what needs to be done. Today we are here to hear from you what you think, but also to try to explain to you what this is about. It's about the process. It will be a journey, a change. I know that there is a lot of talk about deadlines, when and what. But, what's important is what will happen by then. Until then, there has to be a major change,” said Ambassador Wigemark.
He added that, having spent several years here and talking to many people across the country, he is convinced that everyone wants a change.
“The situation is now a bit different, because now we have the Opinion. Now is the time to move from the Opinion to action as we like to say it,” said Ambassador Wigemark.
