SARAJEVO, July 3 (FENA) – Representatives of the Association of Employers of Federation of BiH said today at the press conference in Sarajevo that their “Initiative 20+5+6” is in the interest of employers, workers and the state and they urged the relevant authorities to realize it as soon as possible,

This refers to a set of five urgent measures and amendments to laws and draft laws of 20 new legislations, as well as six initiatives which were forwarded to the Government and Parliament of FBiH by the Association of Employers with the goal of unburdening the economy and improving the business environment.

President of the Association of Employers of FBiH Adnan Smailbegović reminded that the “Initiative 20+5+6” was supported with majority votes at the session of the House of Representatives of FBiH, which was held in April this year.

It was concluded that the laws should be prepared by the FBiH Government and the relevant ministries which should send them into parliamentary procedure in line with the FBiH Constitution.

“That session was held 82 days ago and the conclusions were not implemented. We urge the Government to once more understand this more seriously. A good part of these laws are already in the parliamentary procedure so that the amendment can be effective and the procedures can be accelerated.

These laws will certainly lead to improvements in the business environment, the reduction of unemployment and the gray economy, and will have an impact on wage increases for workers, thereby reducing or mitigating the return of the working-age population. It is very important to emphasize that it will not jeopardize out-of-budget funds or budget funds,” Smailbegović said.

Speaking about the competitiveness of our economy, especially in the foreign market, member of the FBiH Association of Employers and GS-TMS Director Snježana Kopruner said that these laws could reduce labor costs as well as increase the salaries of workers.

“We are also working to increase the minimum wage from the current 400 to 500 to 600 KM, which will help the most vulnerable part of society to live a little better. Manufacturers and exporters, in addition to the labor force outflow problem, also make great contributions, and employers suggest that they account for 26.5 percent. We think it would be attractive for employers and for those who work in the segment of gray economy to return to normal flows. This would even increase the appropriations for health and pension funds,” said Kopruner.
