MOSTAR, July 2 (FENA) – The management of the company Aluminij Mostar sent a letter in which it notifies the funds for environment protection of the Federation of BiH, the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Police Administration Mostar that the production of Aluminij will be shut down on Saturday, June 6 one minute after midnight.
One minute after midnight, in a “risky technological and technical process” Aluminij will shut down the high voltage electrical circuit, said the letter signed by the Director General of Aluminij Dražen Pandža, whose contents were published by the web site Bljesak.info.
On Tuesday, Aluminij said that members of the Management will address media representatives on Wednesday, July 3, after the session of the Supervisory Board.
In the last couple of years, Aluminij has been operating at a loss and the entire debt of the company amounts to almost 400 million KM, of which more than half refers to spent electricity.
Last week, the FBiH Government held a meeting with representatives of the Swiss company Glencore which expressed readiness to take over the Mostar company, but the meeting ended without a deal.
