SARAJEVO, July 1 (FENA) – The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marina Pendeš talked today with Bruce Berton, head of the OSCE Mission to BiH.
At the meeting, which was attended by Assistant Defense Minister for international cooperation Zoran Šajinović, they discussed the joint activities stated in the Cooperation Plan, which is based on the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and OSCE in the field of defense and security.
They expressed mutual satisfaction with implemented activities and talked about upcoming projects.
They especially discussed the possibility of using the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of BiH at future trainings in the development of security policies in BiH.
Pendeš thanked for the help that the OSCE provides to BiH, with other international organizations and projects of securing military storages and destruction of surplus weapons, ammunition and mines and explosives.
He pointed out that MoD and AF BiH possessed more than 25,000 tons of surplus weapons and ammunition, but during the year that number was decreased to about 7,000 tons, said MoD BiH.
