SARAJEVO, June 25 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak and Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Soreide pointed out today that BiH and Norway have excellent political relations open to future cooperation, but that there are many ways in which they can improve it, especially in the economic part.

"Our trade exchange is small and one of the things we will try to do is to approach two markets, businesses of the two countries in the coming period," said Crnadak at a press conference at the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, he said, they discussed the topics that are most important for the relations of the two countries, as well as the political situation in our country and in the region. Minister Eriksen Soreide is in the region, and she visited Belgrade and Priština, so this was an opportunity to discuss the key challenges in the region.

"We have a lot of understanding about the detriment of the decision of the authorities in Priština when it comes to the one-stop fee on our goods, and we sincerely hope that this will come to an end and that the wrong move will be withdrawn," Crnadak said.

He noted that the support of Norway to Bosnia and Herzegovina over the previous years was enormous, and welcomed the decision of the Norwegian government to virtually double its presence and financial support to BiH and the region in the upcoming period.

He added that they also discussed the next steps and intensified cooperation between the two ministries.

Ine Eriksen Soreide said that they discussed the partnership projects at the meeting, specifically, the one related to mine clearance was highlighted. Very good cooperation is also in sectors related to public administration and judiciary reforms.

The area in which cooperation could expand, she said, is the development of entrepreneurship, the creation of jobs, especially for young people, and the launch of small businesses. She stated that they are supporting the regional program that is delivered to vocational training and mentioned three business incubators that, as she said, have a good future.

"Since 1994, our total support has been around 400 million Euros and we want to improve political and economic cooperation, and this is precisely why we paid a visit to this region, to get more information," emphasized Eriksen Soreide.
