Zvizdić: Dačić's statement chauvinistic and militaristic

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, June 16 (FENA) – Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić reacted to the statement given by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dačić that “Bosnia and Herzegovina has never and will never be a Muslim country the way Bosniaks want it to be”.

“Instead of expected neighborly messages of enhancement of economic and social cooperation, mutual understanding and building of trust based on principles of truth, justice and tolerance, we heard ill-intentioned messages of hatred and intolerance from Ivica Dačić towards everything that is Bosniak.

This is a chauvinistic and militaristic statement, which puts Bosniaks in a negative context and falsely accuses them of wanting a ‘Muslim BiH’,” said Zvizdić.

He added that BiH has always been and will remain Bosnian and Herzegovinians and multicultural and there will always be room for mosques, churches, cathedrals and synagogues in its entire territory.

That is why Zvizdić invited political representatives of “our neighbors to respects BiH’s uniqueness in diversity if they cannot understand it”.

“Because Bosniaks never asked for a ‘Muslim’ Bosnia. On the contrary, Bosniaks, like all other citizens of BiH, Bosnian Serbs, Bosnian Croats and each resident want an integral, democratic and European BiH, as a multicultural society of equal opportunities.

Dačić gave this statement at the SNSD Assembly in Lakataši.
