ČAPLJINA, June 12 (FENA) - A sendoff ceremony for the 45 members of the 10th rotation of the Infantry Unit of the BiH Armed Forces and eight members of the Military Police of the BiH AF to peacekeeping operations in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan took place on Wednesday in the barracks "Božan Simović" in Čapljina.
The BiH Defense Minister Marina Pendeš said that peacekeeping missions are one of the obligations that the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the Armed Forces of our country have in accordance with the law on defense.
“Today we attended the ceremony on the occasion of the departure of our soldiers and military police officers, and I believe that this is another confirmation that the members of the BiH Armed Forces are well prepared regardless of the tasks of international character, and that they can certainly respond to everything that is out before them,” said Pendeš.
She pointed out that the BiH Armed Forces receive the highest marks and praises for their members when it comes to peacekeeping missions, regardless of the country in which they were located.
Apart from Minister Pendeš, the ceremony was attended by Major General Ilić, Brigadier Rezić and other officials of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of BiH, representatives of local, cantonal and state institutions, representatives of military diplomatic corps accredited in Bosnia and Herzegovina, NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo and EUFOR Command, and the family members of the BiH AF personnel that are being deployed to the mission.
