SARAJEVO, June 7 (FENA) - The administration of the Federation BiH Motorways has decided that two Chinese companies will build the most costly motorway section on the Corridor 5-C, Počitelj - Zvirovići, whose total value is 200 million KM (100 million euros), daily newspaper ‘Dnevni avaz’ learns today.
It is an 11 kilometers-long motorway section, which includes construction of the Počitelj bridge, total length of 945 meters and a maximum height of 100 meters.
The China State Construction Engineering Company and ‘Synohydro Power China’ submitted the most favorable bids for the construction of this section, which was accepted by the FBiH Motorways after the evaluation procedure.
This section of the motorway is financed through the loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB), which, according to "Dnevni avaz", has finally given green light for awarding of the contract and the start of construction.
Unlike with the case of previous tenders, the EIB for the first time has approved a contract to a company chosen by the FBiH Motorways.
The China State Construction Engineering Company has pledged to complete the road section on both sides of the bridge and the Počitelj loop, for 66.2 million euros, while the bridge itself will be built by ‘Synohydro Power China’ for the amount of 32.8 million euros.
The construction of this section of the motorway has been on hold for years, and the EIB has already canceled the tender procedure twice. This time, they sent their consultant, who supervised the complete tender procedure and reviewed the tender documentation together with the FBiH Motorways.
Previously, the FBiH Motorways had awarded the contract to the consortium between "Strabag" and "Euroasfalt".
