SARAJEVO, June 6 (FENA) - Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) filed complaints to the Central Election Commission (CEC BiH) against 14 political parties for receiving illegal donations.
Complaints have been filed against SBB, SDS, SDP, SDA, A-SDA, Party for BiH, DNS, DF, Independent Block, PDA, Socialist Party, Independent BiH List, Alliance for New Politics and SRS dr Vojislav Šešelj. These political parties received donations from legal entities that had contracts with bodies of executive authority, which is violation of the Law on Political Party Financing of BiH, TI BiH stated.
It is stated that TI BiH also delivered a list of contracts between the donors and bodies of executive authority during 2018. These information show that donors of the parties won many public calls in local communities where these parties are in power, "which shows that tax payers' money was directed towards financing of the election campaign".
"Monitoring of political party financing of TIBiH showed that political subjects are reporting less donations by the year, even though there have not been any changes in their budgets, whereas costs of the election campaign keep increasing . Many ruling political parties, such as SNSD and United Srpska, did not report any donations from legal entities in their reports. On the other hand, SNSD reported more than half a million KM of membership fees for 2018, without even stating number of members," it is stated.
