TUZLA, May 20 (FENA) - Numerous young people in Tuzla today presented to potential employers their startup or business ideas in order to get jobs and do what they like professionally. It is a project of the School of ICT and Business Communication eMPIRICA titled Pitch-Match-Start(Up), which has organized a competition of startups and their networking with potential investors, as well as networking of IT students with potential employers.

This event represents the completion of a one-year project of ICT Business Innovation Center eMPIRICA implemented with the support of the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees and the Government of Switzerland, in partnership with the UN Development Program in BiH and the International Organization for Migration.

The first prize, worth one-year incubation in the ICT Business Innovation Center eMPIRICA, which includes space and other necessary resources for the company's work, mentoring and 1,000 KM, was awarded to Bit Legion team from Brčko, for their product ‘NiNu Box’ - a smart box for first aid.

The second prize, worth one-year of incubation in the ICT Business Innovation Center eMPIRICA, which includes space and other necessary resources for the company's work, mentoring and 500 KM, went to GreenCode team from Tuzla for their product ‘Crowdy’ - a web portal for linking event organizers and planners with their users.

In the part of the so-called Startup-Investor Matchmaking, a linking of startups with investors was hosted, so that both sides could find future business partners. During the 10-minute 1-to-1 meetings, start-ups had to gain attention of a potential investor in order to arrange a second meeting in the future.

The pinnacle of the project is the Pitch-Match-Start(Up) where four startup ideas were presented. The two best startups receive funding, and its designers in the next 12 months will get all the resources from eMPIRICA to fully realize the ideas.

The project was implemented by two top ICT experts from the diaspora - Edhem Čustović (La Trobe University Melbourne, Australia) and Aleksandar Mastilović (University of Novi Sad).
