SARAJEVO, May 16 (FENA) - The Presidency of the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB) decided at today's session in Sarajevo that it will be a part of the government at the state and FBiH levels in the next four years and will begin official negotiations on forming a coalition with other political parties.
The SBB Vice-President Adisa Omerbegović-Arapović confirmed to the media today that, due to the complex political situation, SBB has decided to accept the previous invitation of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) to be part of the ruling coalition with SDA and the Democratic Front (DF) at the state and FBiH levels.
“The political and constitutional crisis, attacks on the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina internally and externally, the difficult economic situation in the country, as well as the blockade of the reform processes, are the reasons why the SBB Presidency made such a decision.
Unity and partnership is what we choose at this moment,” added Omerbegović-Arapović, explaining that there were no conversations about cantonal governments today, and that the Sarajevo Canton government, in which the SBB is a part of the majority, will not be disputed.
When it comes to the position of the Minister of Security of BiH, the SBB Vice-President said that if the party leader Fahrudin Radončić were to accept this position, he would be the only party president in the Council of Ministers of BiH, but, she added, he would act as a cohesive factor.
The final decision on who will be the Minister of Security of BiH on behalf of SBB will be made later.
Following this decision of the SBB, the ruling coalition which should exercise power over the next four years, would consist of SBB, SDA and DF (who have 14 deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH), representatives of the Croat Democratic Union and parties gathered around the Croat National Assembly (HSS, HKDU BiH, HSP-HNS, HSP DR AS BiH and HDU BiH) with five deputies.
