SARAJEVO, May 13 (FENA) - A group of MPs from the Una-Sana Canton wanting to ease the burden of a migrant crisis of the Una-Sana Canton in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has proposed several measures demanding that the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament adopts them as the conclusions of today's thematic sessions dedicated to the migrant crisis.

Among the measures related to the health and security aspects of the crisis, the MPs proposed that the House of Representatives ask the FBiH Government to allocate four million KM - three for the Cantonal Hospital and healthcare centers in the USC, and one million for equipping the cantonal Ministry of Internal Affairs.

They ask the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH to adopt amendments to the provisions of the Foreign Nationals Act concerning the limitation of the number of persons seeking asylum in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and separately from the Council of Ministers, to urgently adopt a strategy for managing the migrant route in BiH in order for the crisis to be as evenly distributed as possible across the country.

The first of the proposed measures, the lawmakers from the USC requested immediate stopping of hate speech against migrants and the presenting the Una-Sana Canton in a negative context. In this regard, they explained that they condemn hate speech and controversial articles in the media and on social networks.

The MPs also request that the Council of Ministers send a note to all the competent institutions of the Republic of Croatia, the European Commission and the UNHCR, in which it will warn them against the violation of the Convention on the Status of Refugees.

According to the data of the non-governmental sector in BiH, migrants who were never on the territory of our country have been ‘returned’ to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is prohibited by the convention, explained the MPs in their proposal for the conclusions of today's thematic session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament which is still in progress.
