SARAJEVO, May 3 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina, when it sets its mind around it, can do everything it imagines, and most importantly, we have sent out the best possible message and presented the best image of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the world, which is that after stability and security , the most important segment is our economy and putting our human and natural potentials in the function of economic development of BiH,” said Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, summarizing the results of the concluded Annual Meeting the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) that took place in Sarajevo.

Zvizdić expressed content that Sarajevo and BiH hosted the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the EBRD, the investment conference, the business forum, all very important events for BiH, which, as he pointed out, certainly has not happened in the last few decades, bearing in mind the magnitude of this event.

He said that the Meeting was attended more than 3,000 participants, 70 delegations of the EBRD Governors, business delegations, business people from more than 70 countries and the economies with which the EBRD has business operations, and in which the EBRD is investing.

More than 600 participants were directly from the business community outside BiH, and there were also 49 different meetings, conferences, forums and sessions held at six different locations.

Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mirko Šarović, first of all thanked the media outlets in BiH for the quality reporting and covering all the aspects of this great business event.

“We wanted to send out a different kind of image from BiH, to help shape a different perception of BiH in the eyes of those people who might come here tomorrow or some day in the future or decide to invest in BiH. I think this was a good step in that direction,” Šarović pointed out.

He added that the political gap within the region strongly hampers economic integration and growth of the countries, and it is very important that several initiatives have been launched from Sarajevo, which they jointly called the "Western Balkan Schengen".

“They said that we need this ‘Balkan Schengen’ when it comes to movement of labor force, the free market, and the Balkan motorway network. I am convinced that this idea will come to life and that we might eventually have a space that is much larger than the one we today refer as the CEFTA,” said Šarović.
