Borenović: Complex situation with migrants in USC

FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, April 30 (FENA) – President of Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) and deputy in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament Branislav Borenović and group of MPs visited migrant centers Bira, Miral and Sedra in Bihać, Velika Kladuša and Cazin.

Borenović met with Prime Minister and ministers in Government of Una-Sana Canton, Mayor of Bihać, officers from Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of BiH and representatives of international organizations dealing with migrant crisis, such as IOM, Save the children and the Red Cross, PDP stated today.

“Situation is very complex and only by visiting these centers we can clearly see the real situation. We see that representatives of Una-Sana Canton and international organizations are treating migrants properly and professionally, providing them with the most basic living conditions,” said Borenović.

It is necessary for all levels of government in BiH to put efforts and coordinate activities with the European institutions to manage the migrant crisis easier, which is affecting lives of people who are staying at these centers, but also BiH in general.

He emphasized that none of these people has the intention of staying in BiH, but they want to get closer to border and get to their final destination, which are the EU countries.
