Izetbegović: More trust necessary in leadership

SARAJEVO, April 28 (FENA) – President of Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović confirmed yesterday this party has been criticized many times, adding more trust is necessary in leadership.

He assessed that SDA is getting old in a way and that it needs to get stronger and get new energy through younger staff.

Commenting on process of formation of government in BiH after October general elections, he said the role of leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) Milorad Dodik is fairly relaxed because he is winning either way.

“Whether he gets more power or crisis emerges in BiH he wins,” he added.

When it comes to Croat Democratic Union (HDZ), he stated he advised president of the party Dragan Čović to get closer to Bosniaks and to achieve goals Croats are fighting for together, but that has not happened.

Izetbegović noted that Democratic Front (DF) will be part of parliamentary majority, hoping the same will happen with Alliance for Better Future (SBB).

When it comes to ministries, he said that Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs are each entitled to three seats in the Council of Ministers of BiH and one position will go to the Others, a non-party person.

“It is better to divide those three ministries between SDA, DF and SBB than for them to go all to SDA. We will definitely take Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because we want to defend the image of BiH, DF will probably go with Ministry of Defense, and it is possible SBB will take Ministry of Security, which is a matter of negotiations,” announced Izetbegović.

He assessed that role of the international community has become very passive, considering there has not been an adequate response to things that are taking place within BiH and countries of the region.

He gave the information that European countries need around a million new workers every year and that Germany is currently offering 100.000 workplaces (IT experts, engineers, doctors), which will first be taken by migrants and then by workforce from its closest countries, which are Balkan countries.

“Two intellectuals with two children who million KM was invested in, are leaving. When a thousand of such families leave, a billion KM left BiH and there are no IPA funds to make up for that,” he said.

He concluded that BiH needs political unity and a strong BiH front, stronger diplomacy, lobbying across the world, stronger Armed Forces of BiH, police and security agencies, but also defense industry.
