Agreements signed with local partners ahead of EBRD conference in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, April 24 (FENA) - The partners of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the host country of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors, the investment conference and the business forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), today signed protocols and agreements that will help organize this great event.

It will be one of the biggest events in recent years in Bosnia and Herzegovina that will be held from May 7 to 9 in Sarajevo, and BiH will be the center of interest of the biggest investors in Europe and the world, with long-term positive effects.

The meeting will be attended by 68 shareholders, that is, the countries that make up the structure of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and will be represented by the ministers of finance or economics, or governors from those countries in charge for their local EBRDs.

Also, the presence of more than 2,500 business people from all over the world has been announced. More than 250 international and regional media are expected, as well as live broadcast on the BBC.

Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović confirmed that, at the same time, Sarajevo will host the summit of the leaders of the countries of the Western Balkans (Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Nort Macedonia and Croatia) who are to send a clear message that this region safe for investments.

“BiH expects great benefits from these events. It will be an opportunity to promote everything in BiH, all potentials including tourism. We will then sign two contracts with the EBRD worth 220 million euros,” added Šarović.

One of the signatories of the agreements was the Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Edin Forto, who said that this should be an opportunity to send a message to the world that Sarajevo is not only a desirable tourism destination, but also a desirable business destination, where investors are welcome and safe.

Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka pointed out that Sarajevo will have several benefits from these events, which is an improvement in its reputation, while other benefits are economic in nature, as this will open the path for large investments.

The sponsor of these events will be BH Telecom, and General Manager Sedin Kahriman pointed out that in this way, the company is showing its social responsibility, noting that it is a great honor for them to be partner in these events.

Executive Manager of Marketing of ‘Integral Inzinjering’, Nikola Radovanović signed a sponsorship agreement today, stressing that the EBRD for many years has been the most important source of financing in the construction sector in BiH.
