BANJA LUKA, April 24 (FENA) - The National Assembly of RS (RSNA) at today’s session considered the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Public Order and Peace, and the RS Interior Minister Dragan Lukač confirmed that a provision regarding the ban on photographing of police officers would be withdrawn from the procedure.
To the media, NGOs and the opposition, this amendment to the law was inadmissible as it stipulates that an offense against public order and peace would be “unauthorized photographing or recording of police officers while performing their duties".
During today's address to the parliament, Lukač added that the intention of the RS MoI “was not to prevent anyone, especially journalists, from doing their job,” and that they have reached a conclusion with the heads of parliamentary caucuses in the National Assembly that the mentioned provision was not necessary in the law.”
In the second part of the session, the deputies discussed the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Arms and Ammunition in order to further abolish administrative barriers when it comes to conditions for weapons and ammunition purchase.
The entity Minister of Internal Affairs Dragan Lukač previously in a closed session submitted the information on the investigation into the recent murders in Laktaši and Prijedor.
