BANJA LUKA, April 18 (FENA) - Bishop of Banja Luka, Monsignor Franjo Komarica, said today that he is looking forward to see the meeting between the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis and the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik next week, stressing that he expects that the two would also touch upon the fact that there are almost 95 percent of Catholics missing from RS in comparison to their number before the war in that region of Bosnia and Herzegovina now part of the entity of Republika Srpska.
“We have known for years what the situation was with the Catholics in this country and what had happened to them during the war and after that period, and that today we have less than half of the number of Catholics from their number before the war in the entire territory of BiH,” said Komarica.
"I believe that, if there is a discussion between the Holy Father and his associates and the political representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a question would be raised about those Catholics missing in RS and why nothing has been done politically, legally and economically to allow the return to those who wanted to return home," Komarica said.
“At that meeting, a question would have to be raised and that is, what is your plan with BiH without one of its constituent peoples and the Catholic Church with its long historical roots in BiH,” said Monsignor Komarica.
