Komšić: Drvar is a city of the partisans and has always been a Bosnian city

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 17 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić reacted today to statement made by Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to BiH, Aleksandar Đorđević, who said at the opening of the Consular Office of the Republic of Serbia in Drvar yesterday that, "Drvar shall in the future, as it was in the past, once again become a Serbian city."

Komšić underlined that "Drvar has never been a Serbian city, nor will it ever be," stressed the BiH Presidency member.

“Drvar was and it is in fact a city of partisans of the People’s Liberation War in WWII, and it has always been a Bosnian city. It will always be, despite the wishes and pretensions of Serbia towards the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which have been manifested in the last decades in many forms bringing on the greatest tragedy to BiH and its citizens. I hope that the Ambassador of Serbia will, in the future, refrain from his acts of ‘serbization’ of Bosnian cities. This country has always been large enough for everyone, but there was never any room for this kind of ethnic exclusivity,” Komšić underlined.
