BiH Ombudspersons urge citizens to stand against fear, hatred and extremism

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 12 (FENA) - The Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nives Jukić, Ljubinko Mitrović and Jasminka Džumhur strongly condemned the vandal act of spray-paining offensive content (a swastika and a Serb nationalist cross) on a wall of the Banja Luka Arnaudija Mosque, whose reconstruction is in progress, and appeal to the competent authorities and institutions to undertake all necessary actions and measures in order to find the perpetrators as soon as possible and sanction them by appropriate procedures.

The Ombudspersons condemn every act of extremism, and all forms of hate speech aimed at fostering fear and intolerance in society, committed by any individual or group, who do not contribute to communion and stability, and protect the human rights of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ombudsman Institution urge all citizens and institutions to actively engage in the fight against fear, hatred and extremism through dialogue, understanding and mutual respect.
