SARAJEVO, April 12 (FENA) - Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdić is in Dubrovnik today where he addressed his colleagues at the prime ministers’ plenary session of the Summit at the 8th Summit of Heads of Government of the People's Republic of China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe (16 + 1).

He emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country which is expected to receive the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union, and that the European path remains the main foreign policy goal of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I am pleased to be a witness to the development and strengthening of our joint cooperation within the framework of "16 + 1" and I emphasize Bosnia and Herzegovina's commitment to continue with its active participation in the implementation of the so far agreed projects.

BiH is very much interested in continuing with further improvement and strengthening of relations with the People's Republic of China and Central and Eastern European countries in the fields of tourism, energy, transport, metal and wood industry, as these are our priority sectors and bearers of our greatest potential for domestic and foreign investments,” said Zvizdić.

He also noted that there is a great interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina to export agricultural products to China, and that the two countries have signed the Agreement on Agricultural Cooperation, as well as the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Zvizdić said that visa liberalization with the PR China has resulted in a significant increase in the number of Chinese tourists visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, so this year our country expects about 100,000 Chinese tourists.

“At the moment, our exports are predominantly focused on EU countries, but we also want to continue cooperation between BiH and countries of CEFTA. I welcome the adoption of the Dubrovnik Guidelines in which we have agreed for BiH to host the meeting of Ministers of Transport 16 + 1 by the end of 2019, and I am particularly pleased that Sarajevo will host the 5th Summit of Mayors of the 16 + 1 capital cities, which will deepen cooperation, communication and coordination at the local level. I am pleased to invite you to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina during these events,” said Zvizdić in his address, the BiH Council of Ministers stated.
