SARAJEVO, April 9 (FENA) – Women's Entrepreneurship Days, a traditional event which gathers around 200 female entrepreneurs from BiH and the region every year started in Sarajevo yesterday.

“Association of Business Women in BiH" is promoting entrepreneurship through this event and it helps female entrepreneurs to design their products and place them to the market.

President of the Association of Business Women in BiH Aida Zubčević announced today's conference with female politicians, adding they are trying to create a network to improve this sector together.

This event will gather business women from Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Hungary and women from BiH who live in Austria and have their business association.

"This event is very important to us because of the positive energy and enthusiasm among female entrepreneurs and we are especially pleased by the presence of the FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and Minister of Economy of SC Haris Bašić, which gives us an indication that politicians also understand the significance of this positive story," said Zupčević.

Government of the Federation of BiH, said Prime Minister Novalić, allocated 23.5 million KM to support female entrepreneurship and they will continue this policy.

"We adopted a strategy to support development of female entrepreneurship two years ago. This event is important because it promotes the fastest growing sector apart from trade," said Novalić, pointing to importance of connecting all factors in the market.

Numerous activities of the Women's Entrepreneurship Days, which is supported by the European Union, will be held in Sarajevo and Tuzla on 8-12 April.

Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Khaldoun Sinno said that gender equality is the basis of the EU policy and the EU accession process.

"This is not only about human rights, but it is about stability of human society because the more independent and empowered women are in economic sense, more contribution they can give in society," Sinno said, adding this is about empowering women from rural areas, women who are dealing with cultural heritage and enabling them access to the market.

This-year's program of "Women's Entrepreneurship Days" will be dedicated to improvement of legal regulative in entrepreneurship, and systemic solutions for female entrepreneurs from rural areas who are primarily involved in agriculture.
