BANJA LUKA, April 5 (FENA) - Minister of Interior of Republika Srpska (RS) Dragan Lukač confirmed yesterday that there can be certain changes in the final proposal of amendments to the Law on Public Peace and Order and that they do not endanger activities of the media, but they protect them.

He noted the Parliament will now only vote on draft of the law and it remains to be seen when the parliamentary discussion will be scheduled.

Lukač specified that amendments to the Law on Public Peace and Order, which include the article of the law according to which "those obstructing official persons, representatives of state institutions in their work" does not only refer to police officers but to journalists as well.

"We believe that no one has the right to obstruct state representatives from doing their job, but that is in no way attack on the media," Lukač emphasized, reminding that media had initiatives to secure their work in a legal way.
