SDP BiH condemns hate speech, discrimination, and threats of violence

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 4 (FENA) - The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns hate speech, discrimination and threats of violence in connection with the announced holding of the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian Pride Parade in Sarajevo in September this year.

We insist on the implementation of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination and the Criminal Code of BiH, and we demand an adequate response from judicial institutions regarding the attacks on organizers and activists.

Stemming from the European Convention on Human Rights and Freedoms, as well as the constitutional provisions on human rights and freedoms, the SDP BiH, at the center of its political activity, places the legal protection of human rights and freedoms and their consistent implementation.

Our goal is a society without supremacist ideas and subordination, without patriarchy, racism, homophobia and transphobia, society without prejudice and discrimination.

We will not stand idly by and tolerate discrimination based on gender, age, disability, skin color, ethnicity, religion, gender identity and sexual orientation or anything else that goes against of us being equal people in all aspects, whether at work, in leisure time, at school, at home or elsewhere, stated the SDP in its reaction.
