SARAJEVO, April 3 (FENA) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) has called on the organizers and authorities in the Sarajevo Canton to give up the organization of the pride parade announced for September this year by LGBT activists "and not to bring in disarray among the citizens of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina".
“Every citizen of this country must have equal rights regardless of their racial, ethnic, religious, political or ideological orientation. The right to free life, property, healthcare, education and work must be guaranteed to every person, regardless of their sexual orientation.
However, we believe that in a society such as ours, which nurtures fundamental values and with the growing challenges of modern times, it seeks to preserve the traditional family, thus public parading of LGBT persons should not be organized as this would only deepen the gap between people of different perceptions, worldviews, and they would not bring any new values to human rights,” the SDA stated.
The SDA as the strongest Bosniak party in the country claims that ever since its inception, the party has always protected the fundamental human rights and freedoms, and they fiercely oppose any form of discrimination in the society, and across the country.
SDA states that it believes that every BiH citizen must have the same rights, regardless of racial, ethnic or religious affiliation, political or ideological commitment.
“We are determined to fight every kind of discrimination in our society, in the whole country and on any ground,” stated the SDA.
