SARAJEVO, March 25 (FENA) - The development and successful work of the Association of Business Service Leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ABSL) BiH will contribute to the promotion of outsourcing industry and the retention of young workforce in the country, it was highlighted today in Sarajevo at the presentation of the social role and work of this association.

Managing Director at ABSL BiH, Erol Mujanović explained that that they are working with business processes, i.e. parts or professions within a company that is in Western Europe, which then decides to relocate them somewhere else.

“In that sense, one of the main forces of BiH is the fact that we have an overwhelming number of young people who know the most important foreign languages for this industry, which are English and German, and who can easily be trained by the companies that employ them. So they have a chance to work in BiH for a salary that is two or three times higher than the average salary in BiH working for international companies and markets,” said Mujanović.

Outsourcing, says Mujanović, includes 15 key professions, including contacting clients, design services, and other. What comes to mind first is the IT industry because it is the most developed; however, it can be a lot more and wider range of jobs from doing payments for a company, then a number of activities that are done by telephone, analytical activities (market research) and more.

“Tens of thousands of jobs in the outsourcing industry are at disposal and a new high quality destination in Europe is being sought to take over,” Mujanović said.

On this occasion, one of the founders of ABSL, Jacek Levernes and Tarik Altumbabić, one of the founders of ABSL BiH, signed a cooperation agreement that will define the framework and many other important issues for the operation of this association in BiH, which will have a significant impact on the labor market.

British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Matthew Field even earlier supported the establishment of a licensed ABSL that should contribute to the implementation of socio-economic reforms and the creation of new jobs.

“We are aware of the potential of this industry, and we hope that Bosnia and Herzegovina will succeed in taking advantage of its comparative advantages, attracting more jobs and thus reducing the trend of young talented people leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina to other countries.

I hope that the ABSL, and similar associations, will be an active participant in the reform process in BiH,” said the British ambassador.

The ABSL aims at representing the business interests of all domestic outsourcing companies, helping to expand the scope of operations of these companies in the domestic and foreign markets, attracting new investors and improving the business environment within this industry.

Throughout Eastern Europe, the outsourcing industry covers more than 500,000 employees and has an annual growth of 20 percent with 45,000 new jobs at disposal at the moment, which brings huge opportunities for employment for BiH and the entire region of the Western Balkans.
