USAID secures funds for business projects of women from marginalized groups

SARAJEVO, March 19 (FENA) - The USAID's Support Program for Marginalized Groups in cooperation with nine local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina has secured around 540,000 KM to support the launch and development of business projects of women from marginalized groups.

The cooperation agreements will be signed with the heads of nine municipalities on March 20 in Sarajevo.

The project provides support to the development of business initiatives for women with disabilities, mothers with disabilities, women from rural areas, victims of violence and unemployed young women from Živinice, Žeplče, Lopare, Prozor-Rama, Berkovići, Lukavac, Istočna Ilidža, Foča and Novi Grad.

The funds are allocated through the Support Fund for business development of marginalized groups of women that was established in early 2017, which to date, provided support to 96 business initiatives.   

Signing of the agreements will be attended by the mayors of the municipalities, Deputy Ambassador of the United States of America to BiH Ellen Germain, USAID Director for Bosnia and Herzegovina Peter Duffy, Director of USAID Support Program for Marginalized Groups Jasmin Bešić, and women who have launched their businesses and successfully implement them.
