Organization, which does not use the term “economic migrants”, also emphasized that it is simply impossible for anyone to assess the influx of migrants this year. Current increase is due to warmer weather after the winter.

IOM stated that Ministry of Security of BiH reacted since the beginning when BiH was faced with a complex challenge since migrants started using the new route, through BiH. IOM and other UN agencies and non-governmental sector have been supporting Ministry of Security.

European Union has secured 9.2 million euros, mostly to IOM, for their activities on the field.

Almost 30.000 people have entered BiH since 2018, IOM stated, noting these have only been registered arrivals.
