BAKU, March 15 (FENA) - Despite the fact that the public arena in BiH and the countries of the region is dominated by politics, the economy of the region and BiH is still "tough enough" and in a way it is catching breath. We have been achieving solid results in spite of some other imposed priorities, said today in the statement to BiH journalists in Baku Foreign Minister Mirko Šarović, FENA reports.
Šarović, as one of the participants of the 7th Global Baku Forum, said that he advocates that the development of economy is set as a key priority.
“I believe that some things in the region and BiH need to be restarted, leave those heavy issues for at least four to eight years and focus on European integration,” he said.
He assessed that our country cannot be viewed in isolation because it is affected by the influences from the region.
“In a way, I am worried about the state of the region in the last year or two. It is not great, we see turmoil everywhere, but I hope that we in BiH, in 2019, will take another, more normal path, through development and finally by obtaining a candidate status with the EU,” Šarović said.
He believes that BiH needs and must take advantage of events such as the Baku Forum.
