Ambassador Nelson visits BiH Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies

SARAJEVO, March 14 (FENA) - The newly appointed Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Eric George Nelson, today visited the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH and spoke with Director of the Directorate Mirsad Vilić and his deputies, Ratko Vuković and Ivica Bošnjak.

Director Vilić welcomed Ambassador Nelson and wished him successful work in his diplomatic mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Vilić informed the Ambassador about the competencies of the Directorate, its role in the BiH security system, as well as the tasks that are being performed on a daily basis.

He expressed gratitude for the cooperation so far with the US Embassy in BiH, especially the support the Embassy provided in the areas of improving the material and technical capacities of the Directorate, organizing training for police officers, and exchanging best practices and experiences.

Ambassador Nelson thanked for the welcome and pointed out that successful communication and cooperation with police agencies is of priority importance to the US administration, and that the Directorate has been a significant partner of the US Embassy in BiH.

Also, information exchange and coordination of BiH police bodies are necessary to preserve a safe environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Nelson also visited the Operational and Situation Center of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH.
