Diplomatic Winter Bazaar allocates a total of 212,000 KM to children/youth NGOs

SARAJEVO, February 13 (FENA) - The Organizing Committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, held in December last year, today officially allocated 212,000 KM to 17 associations dedicated to working with children and youth.

“Our intent was to reach the most remote areas of BiH, help marginalized groups of children and support their families,” said Annarita Lippiello, a member of the Organizing Committee of the Bazaar.

She expressed satisfaction with the achieved results of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar that exceeded all expectations.

Their wish was to support associations that help children with special needs, children who are growing up without parental care or are in difficult conditions, those who need financial help in order to continue their education.

The associations recipients of the funds collected at Bazaar in 2018 are SOS Children's Villages of BiH in Srebrenica (10,000 KM), Franciscan International Student Center in Sarajevo (25,000 KM), Education Builds BiH Sarajevo (15,000 KM), Center for Children and Youth with Special Needs Los Rosales in Mostar (27,000 KM), ‘Down Sy and Us’ from Banja Luka (20,000 KM), ‘Give us a chance’ Sarajevo (10,000 KM), Friends House from Doboj (10,000 KM), ‘A heart for children suffering from cancer’ from Tuzla (25,000 KM ).

Funds were also awarded to the association Children's center ‘Gnijezdo’from Bosansko Grahovo (10,000 KM), Daycare center ‘Gnijezdo’ from Stolac (10,000 KM), Association for support to children and parents ‘Budućnost’ from Sarajevo (15,000 KM), ‘We grow Together’ from Gacko (5,000 KM), Lotus - mental health protection of from Zenica (5,000 KM), International Forum of Solidarity EMMAUS from Doboj (5,000 KM), Grace Valley Center in the vicinity of Zenica (10,000 KM), Angelus - Association for parents with children with special needs from Domaljevac-Šamac (5,000 KM) and Association ‘Tračak nade’ from Foča (5,000 KM).

Matthew Field and Nicola Minasi, the ambassadors of the Great Britain and the Republic of Italy in BiH, as well as members of the Organizing Committee of the Bazaar Annarita Lippiello (Italy), Martina Field-Klisović (UK), Zsofia Kuszenda (EU), the representatives of the international and local communities, Anthoussa Diakopoluos (Greece), Darina Kolembusova and Katerina Szep (Slovakia), Flore Blancpain Filipović (ICRC), Natasha Bajuk (IMF), Anna Leko (Hungary) and Madeline Ben Artiković, as well as some of the sponsors of the Bazaar, presented the checks to the recipients.

The Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, held in December 2018, was supported by 40 embassies and international organizations, as well as 70 local organizations, exhibitors and sponsors, and was attended by more than 15,000 visitors.
