SARAJEVO, February 11 (FENA) - Economic and trade cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People's Republic of China is expanding, and this trend should continue in the coming period, emphasized at today's meeting the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović and the newly appointed ambassador of PR China to BiH Ji Ping.
“Trade exchange with the People's Republic of China has reached 700 million euros, an increase of 100 percent compared to the previous period, and for a small country, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is a significant success.
In the past period between, important economic agreements have been signed between the two countries, such as an agreement in the field of agriculture and veterinary medicine, and our country for the first time can export food of animal origin to China,” said Minister Šarović, who is also the national coordinator for cooperation with PR China.
Šarović and Ji Ping noted that the relations between the two countries are accelerating in all fields, and it is expected that, thanks to visa liberalization agreement, this year, our country will host about 100,000 Chinese tourists, stated the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
Ambassador Ji Ping emphasized that China attaches great importance to the development of relations with BiH, and that great number of Chinese citizens and business people want to visit, but also to invest in our country.
The interlocutor agreed that it is important that successful cooperation be continued in 2019 as well, with a focus on energy and infrastructure projects, such as the construction of road infrastructure in RS and the construction of Block 7 of TPP Tuzla as well as within the large, global projects "Belt and Road" and the cooperation ‘16 +1’ initiatives.
