SARAJEVO, February 4 (FENA) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) is asking for an urgent adoption of the Federation of BiH budget by February 10 at the latest.
“We believe that the current convening of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the FBiH can also do the job, if the process of appointing the delegates to the new convocation is not completed soon,” said the SDA.
The SDA also noted that, in accordance with the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH on the continuity of institutions, the so-called former convocations of the institutions have full legitimacy and legal basis to make decisions until the new convocation is constituted.
Therefore, the SDA calls on the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the FBiH Parliament Lidija Bradara (HDZ) to convene a session by February 10 in order to pass the FBiH budget for 2019.
The SDA argues that it is unacceptable that the adoption of the budget is used for any kind of political conditioning, and that any further delay means dangerous political games that could have unpredictable consequences.
“We have seen the consequences of such actions in the areas affected and endangered by flooding, where due to the failure to adopt the budget, the Civil Protection Service of FBiH was unable to put in use all the capacities to help citizens whose lives and property are endangered by natural disasters,” it is said in the statement of the SDA.
