SARAJEVO, February 3 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Hani bin Abdullah Mominah says that the visa regime is a major obstacle for the citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who want to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina receives a large number of tourists from all over the world.

This, among other things, is contributed by the liberalization of the visa regime, as an aspect of the free movement of people.

Particularly noticeable is the visit of tourists from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, although they still need a visa to enter BiH, said Ambassador Mominah in his statement to FENA, adding that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent years have had a chance to witness the arrival of a large number of Saudi tourists.

Ambassador Mominah noted that there are some attempts in Bosnia and Herzegovina to adapt the infrastructure to the needs of Saudi tourists in terms of investments in the field of hotel management and the provision of appropriate services.

He also believes that the number of visits of Saudi citizens would increase if the visa-free regime would be introduced.

"The Embassy has constantly been addressing the competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order for the Saudi citizens to be granted the visa-free regime, establish a direct air link between Riyadh and Sarajevo, and to work on everything that aims to ensure a comfortable stay for Saudi tourists," said the ambassador.

A greater number of visits from Saudi Arabia is expected after the BiH-based company, FlyBosnia has introduced a direct air link between Sarajevo and Riyadh at very favorable prices.

Ambassador Mominah emphasizes that the citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia love the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but they also enjoy the climate, the winter season activities, and are enchanted by the natural beauties of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its rivers, mountains, and forests.

"Businessmen see great opportunities for investing in BiH, therefore visa liberalization is necessary," concluded Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Hani bin Abdullah Mominah.
