SARAJEVO, January 31 (FENA) – After an eight-hour discussion, deputies of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly adopted budget for 2019 amounting to 941.762.186 KM with 23 votes "for", ten "against" and one "abstained". Compared to the draft, the adopted budget is higher by 13.391.310 KM.
While presenting the budget, Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Edin Forto said that the rebalance will take place in March and that the Government will consider all proposed amendments then. He said the reason is that there is no public discussion. Still, deputies of Party of Democratic Action insisted that the SC Assembly votes on their amendments. All 76 amendments were rejected.
Deputy of Social Democratic Party (SDP) Damir Nikšič said that deputies from SDA are proposing amendments and that Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Fadil Novalić sent a request for assessment of constitutionality of SC Draft budget.
"If SDA deputies insist on amendments, then they are accomplices in breaking the law," said Nikšić.
Deputy from Our Party Neira Dizdarević congratulated the Government for managing to introduce budget in the procedure in short period of time and she commended Prime Minister Forto for reducing allocation of funds for his Cabinet.
