SARAJEVO, January 29 (FENA) – Government of the Federation of BiH adopted the Economic Reform Program of the Federation of BiH for the period 2019-2021, which will be delivered to the Directorate for Economic Planning of BiH, as a coordinating institution for making the Economic Reform Program of BiH for this period.
Enlargement countries, candidates for membership in the EU and potential candidates, which are called Western Balkan countries and Turkey in documents of the European Commission, make and deliver this program of economic reforms.
Program includes the period from 2019 to 2021 and is the only extensive document discussed at committees of the European Council before higher officials of ministries of member countries up to the level of assistant ministers.
Determined priorities of structural reforms of the Federation of BiH for the next three-year period include reform of energy and transport market, which implies improvement of strategic and legislative framework in accordance with Agreement on Energy Community and Energy Efficiency and use of renewable energy sources and creating a sustainable financing system of rail infrastructure, improving transport infrastructure in the Federation of BiH and improving financing model for motorway and roads, with emphasis on concessions and public-private partnership. Priorities also include sector development of agriculture, through improvement of agricultural production and tourism through improvement of the existing legal framework which regulates the area of tourism, tourist communities, sojourn tax and catering.
Another priority is business environment and reducing informal economy, strengthening entrepreneurship by creating a better environment by reducing administrative and financial obstacles for growth and development of small economy, improvement of business infrastructure through projects to support small and medium enterprises, strengthening competitiveness and preservation and increase of employment in this sector.
When it comes to environment, plan is to improve waste management system.
Priority in area of education and skills is to improve competencies of the inter-university, regional and international cooperation, in field of employment and labor market, increase its efficiency and create encouraging legal environment to strengthen the role of mediation in employment, efficient employment policy and improving the social protection system in FBiH.
Institute for Development Programming of FBiH prepared a set of bylaws which should improve the overall planning system and thereby preparation of Economic Reform Program. Preparation of FBiH Development Strategy for period 2021-2027 begins in 2019, PR Office of FBiH Government stated.
