SARAJEVO, January 28 (FENA) - The Bosniak delegates caucus in the previous convocation of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an initiative at today's meeting that the Chairperson Lidija Bradara convenes an extraordinary, urgent session of the House to review the budget of the FBiH for 2019, the financial plans of extra-budgetary funds and other important acts.

The Bosniak representatives submitted the initiative with the necessary 12 signatures, and the head of the caucus Almedin Aliefendić, in a statement to the press, expressed hope that Bradara would convene the session until January 31 and therefore avoid the delays in the monthly payments from the budget to the beneficiaries, among them the pension-disability insurance fund.

Referring to the Rules of Procedure, Aliefendić stated that Bradara, after this initiative, should convene an extraordinary session within 14 days. If she does not do it, the session may be convened by the deputy chair Jasenko Tufekčić, which, according to the Rules of Procedure, can do it within an additional seven days.

Asked about whether it would be too late for January budget payments to pensioners, disabled people and all the other beneficiaries, Aliefendić said that it would and that a certain crisis is to come, but also that we will precisely know who the persons responsible for the delay are.

Chair Bradara’s office has not yet commented on today's initiative of the Bosniak caucus.

Speaker Jasenko Tufekčić, who initiated this meeting of the Bosniak caucus, said that the previous convocation of the House of Peoples still has absolute legitimacy for decision-making, until the new one is formed.

Asked about the position of the Bosniak caucus with regards to the position of international partners in BiH that the previous convocation of the House should not be the one that adopts the budget, Almedin Aliefendić said that the delegates weighed all the opinions and decided that the interests of the citizens are more important in this case and therefore decided to act in accordance with their own responsibility.

According to Aliefendić, all Bosniak delegates today unanimously supported the initiative, no matter from which political parties they come from.

After the General Elections, deputies of the House of Representatives took over their mandates and adopted the FBiH budget for 2019 at a session held on January 9, but this important act cannot come into force until it is passed by both houses of the FBiH Parliament.
