SARAJEVO, January 22 (FENA) - The Annual National Program for the activation of the MAP with NATO was not on the agenda of a session of the BiH Council of Ministers held today in Sarajevo, Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić told journalists after the session.
This was the third time the document was pulled from the agenda, even though its adoption would mean the ability to active the MAP.
Asked why the session after session of the Council of Ministers this happens that the document is proposed and then pulled from the agenda, Mektić responded that in 2009, the then BiH Presidency Chairman Nebojša Radmanović signed a decision on the MAP and stated that “it is crucial that Bosnia and Herzegovina becomes NATO member.”
That signed decision is formally and legally in force today and it is "a political position of Milorad Dodik", said Mektić, adding that Dodik has since changed his opinion on the issue of BiH membership in NATO.
“I cannot be held responsible for Milorad Dodik constant changes in his political opinions,” said Mektić.
After the session of the Council of Ministers, he also told reporters that the Draft Budget of the BiH institutions and international obligations was considered, but it was not adopted, as he expects this to happen at the next session of the CoM.
Asked to comment on the statement of the leader of the Croat Democratic Union of BiH Dragan Čović that “Dodik should not be blackmailed with the MAP”, Mektić replied that "Čović is against everything that does not suit him and Dodik".
“I am, on the other hand, against Čović’s conditioning in connection to the formation of a new FBiH government, the amendments to the Election Law, etc.,” Mektić replied, adding that he is against the conditioning of any kind and that he advocates for the solutions reached through consensus.
