Džaferović and Cormack discuss the continuation of NATO path for BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 14 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received today the US Ambassador Maureen Cormack, and on this occasion, reaffirmed the outstanding friendly relations of the two countries, which are continually improving in all areas, for the benefit of all peoples and citizens of BiH.

The two officials talked about the continuation of the NATO path, with a special emphasis on the unambiguous support that the United States, as a strategic ally, has provided to BiH.

In that context, Džaferović welcomed the recent visit of the Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the letter from the US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo to the BiH Presidency, in which he urged the Presidency to accept the Annual National Program for BiH and expressed the intention to raise the relations of the two countries to a higher degree of cooperation.

It was also pointed out that the country’s commitment to NATO integration was confirmed by consensus through the adoption of the BiH Law on Defense, the BiH Presidency's decisions, and the Foreign Policy Strategy, and that now it has to be made operational through the adoption of the Annual National Program.

Džaferović thanked Ambassador Cormack for her unselfish engagement during her diplomatic term in BiH, as well as for the overall support provided by the United States to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH Presidency stated.
