BANJA LUKA, January 8 (FENA) - The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will not participate this year in the marking of “the Day of RS” on January 9, which has been declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At today’s laying of wreaths in Banja Luka at the monument to the fallen fighters of the former Army of RS, the only participating unit was the honorary unit of the police of the RS entity, while the BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik told reporters that he did not request the participation of members of the Third Infantry Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH at today's and tomorrow's events organized by the RS officials.
“I do not want to have to beg anyone for anything beg, nor to humiliate those soldiers from the Armed Forces. They are welcome at any event, I have respect for them and I will be with them when we celebrate Christmas in the Kozara barracks," said Dodik.
Commenting on the unconstitutionality of the celebration of the “Day of RS”, Dodik said that “certain realities must be accepted.”
“Just the same as we are enduring the existence of BiH, they will also have to get used to us. BiH is not the happiest place for us, but we are aware of the international agreement, the obligation under the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution, and only want our constitutional position and if it is given back, then BiH is acceptable to us. Every other kind of BiH is unacceptable,” said Dodik, pointing out that “the High Representatives in BiH imposed the decisions that cannot be justified and that the entity of RS shall restore all its rights which belong to it under the Constitution."
