SARAJEVO, January 6 (FENA) - A Large number of Orthodox faithful this evening in the Old Orthodox Church in Sarajevo celebrated the arrival of Christmas, as the biggest Christian holiday. This event is also marked by burning the yule-log at the beginning of the celebration of Christmas Eve.

"We celebrate this holiday with great joy. The most important thing is that we have good will and peace among people. Those who create peace will be called the sons of God. Let the happy and blessed be this Christmas Eve," said the Metropolitan of Dabar-Bosna Hrizostom at this evening's liturgy in Sarajevo.

He pointed out that divine love has no boundaries or limitations and that it is the greatest privilege for "man to be the image of God."

Christmas Eve among Orthodox faithful as well is celebrated among the family holiday. It is a time when people gather around the feast table because Christmas also marks the last day of the 40-day long fasting period.
